Ethan Salas, the Padres' prized young catcher, notched his first major-league hit — a triple off the right-field wall — in a 6-4 win over the Giants at San Francisco's Oracle Park.

The 20-year-old made his MLB debut on September 2 at Cincinnati, among the youngest catchers to reach the majors in a generation. His first hit put him in rare company too: the youngest player to triple for a first career hit since Manny Machado in 2012.
