The slow reinvention of El Cajon Boulevard has a new piece: Austin NoLa, a roughly 2,800-square-foot restaurant from the team behind Miss B's Coconut Club, Louisiana Purchase and Coco Maya, set to anchor the ground floor of the Niima Outpost.

Niima Outpost is a five-story, 55-unit mass-timber development at 2519 El Cajon Boulevard, on the North Park stretch of the corridor. Active ground-floor space like this is exactly what boulevard boosters have pushed for — street frontage that turns a car corridor into somewhere people linger.
