Del Mar Wine + Food Festival closes out its five-day run with a Grand Tasting weekend

The Del Mar Wine + Food Festival ran Sept. 30 through Oct. 4, with its centerpiece Grand Tasting on Saturday, Oct. 3, and Sunday, Oct. 4, according to the festival's website, KPBS's event listing and SoCal Travel Blog.

KPBS lists the Grand Tasting at Del Mar Surf Sports Park, 14989 Via de la Valle, from 1 to 4 p.m. both days, with early entry at noon and VIP access at 11:30 a.m. Tickets ranged from $185 to $765 depending on the tier and whether buyers chose one day or both, per KPBS and SoCal Travel Blog; attendees had to be 21 or older unless noted.

KPBS and SoCal Travel Blog both describe more than 100 chefs and restaurants and more than 150 wineries, breweries, distilleries and other beverage makers. The festival's website names Feeding San Diego as its charity partner and says it is funded in part by the San Diego Tourism Marketing District. It also lists Troy Johnson, Alex Morgan, Drew Brees and Rob Machado among its personalities.
